Anand Kondapi, PhD, is currently a Professor at Molecular Therapeutics Laboratory, Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India. He Joined University of Hyderabad in 1993 as Lecturer. Since 1993, he has been working in development of a class of therapeutic agents with specific targeting to eukaryotic topoisomerase II isoforms. His group has developed nanoparticle-based delivery of cancer chemotherapeutics, antiviral agents and neuroprotective agents based the host innate transport phenomena. His group is also involved in characterization of molecular functions of Topoisomerase II beta in HIV-1 early replication and neuronal aging, Further, his group is involved in characterization of innate factors associated during disease progression. Current interest includes functional analysis of Topoisomerase II beta in heart. Published more than 85 papers, filed/granted 13 patents and guided 26 PhD students.
