  • Area Of Research:Dr. Bhattacharyya works on functional characterization of topoisomerases in malaria parasite and development of anti-malaria compounds targeted to topoisomerases. She is also interested in understanding the proteostasis process within the nucleus with special emphasis on identifying the role of heat shock protein 90 and its clients in various DNA- associated pathways.
Dr. Bhattacharyya obtained her PhD degree from the Department of Biophysics, Bose Institute, Kolkata in 2001. She then went on for her post-doctoral studies at Johns Hopkins University and at Tulane University. In 2009, She joined Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, University of Hyderabad as an Assistant Professor.
