Event In Detail

Hands-On Training on CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene-editing in plants

  • Event Date: 03 Oct 2021 - 10 Oct 2021
  • Event Description: The online workshop will cover all the issues related to the fundamentals of molecular cloning and gene-editing technologies and their applications, experimental planning to initiate new experiments, and plant tissue culture for the generation of edited plants such as rice, tomato and rapeseed for improved traits. It will demonstrate and will provide hands-on experience through online interactions and recorded videos to select a target for editing,
selection of appropriate vectors, construct designing, and delivery methods in crop plants. The challenges associated with the plant transformation in different crops and faced by users in obtaining gene-edits will be discussed. Finally, confirmation of putative edited plants by different methods will be demonstrated.

M.Sc. and Ph.D. students from botany/plant sciences background. B.Sc. Botany (Hons) students who have already finished their courses can also attend the event but the number of such students will be subjected to the availability of the free online slots. How to apply: Interested candidates are requested to fill the registration form using the web link given below.
