• Event Description: This conference is biennial, and being held once every two years since 2002. It serves as a platform to bring the ‘yeast community’ from various parts of India together, fosters exchange of scientific ideas and discoveries, and aids in the establishment of inter-institutional and private-public institutions scientific collaborations. In addition, it show-cases the high-quality research of Indian yeast community to scientists from abroad, and leads to the development of international collaborations. It would also expose young researchers from different state and central universities to high-quality research currently being carried out on different aspects of fungal biology in India. This meeting serves as a unique platform in India for exchange of information and fostering collaboration between laboratories working with pathogenic and non-pathogenic species of yeasts and fungi as it brings students and senior research scientists form these labs together.
